Let’s have super fun with Super Santa! Join our super hero drawing class as we draw unique heroes inspired by the Christmas season. Traditionally, Santa and Mrs. Claus fly on a sleigh bring toys to good boys and girls. But let's add a little more excitement and have the couple fly through the night sky with Christmas treats. Students of intermediate drawing abilities will enjoy this class as the super heroes are drawn using basic shapes but with many details. The class will begin by looking at a few famous super hero drawings to get inspiration. Then we will look at the example drawing of our Christmas super heroes (drawn by Teacher MoMo). Next, students will receive step by step visual instructions while they draw along with me, Teacher MoMo. Students will focus on using basic shapes and letters to create the winter setting and character. In the last 20-30 minutes of class, students will color their picture using color pencils, markers, and ink pens. At the end of class, student will have a created their own super hero picture. To personalize the super heroes, students will name their characters, give them super powers, create unique logos, and decide the background settings. Students may wear their super hero clothing/masks to class.
Learning Goals
Students will practice drawing characters in a basic super hero cartoon style inspired by the great super heroes of contemporary time. Students will use critical and creative thinking skills to give each character a unique image and profile.

I am passionate about teaching appreciation of our world's cultures, societies, and people in a fun and engaging way that will spark a lifelong curiosity about our global community and a desire to be active and productive community members. I would like to work with learners from 6 to 18 years old. I have a degree in Sociology from UCLA, visited more than 30 countries, and lived/taught in five countries. I love to explore our global community from teas to art to traditional clothing.
Since 2005, I have taught English as a foreign language. I have taught in Asia, Central America, South America and North America. I have taught all age levels from young learners to middle school students to college students. For the past five years, I have been teaching English online to very young learners in China.
I believe learning should be fun, interactive and relevant to students' lives. Students should be inspired and encouraged to be active learners and full participants in developing their knowledge of the world.
On a personal note, I have two big dreams that I'm pursuing now. The first is to live in London for a year as a writer. Because of the Covid pandemic, I am not sure when this will happen. The second is to publish The Next Great American Novel. (I have a Master's degree in Nonfiction Writing from USC.)
