US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Welcome to Super Science Summer Camp! Put on your lab coats and goggles (totally optional, but it makes it fun!) and get ready for some excitement! This science class emerges the learners into the world of science with fun, hands-on experiments that keeps them engaged and questioning the world around them. These experiments are perfect for young learners and allow them to explore some beginning science concepts. Each day, Miss Heather will present students with a fun experiment, often including songs, books, and/or video clips to make real life connections to the science topics that are being presented. Be sure to check out the supply list so you can be completely prepared for the next 5 days of science fun! Most items are easily found in your home or inexpensive to buy. In this class, I will guide the students as we complete the science experiment together. Students are encouraged to do the experiments themselves, but having a parent nearby is highly recommended since some experiments might get a bit messy. There will be time for questions and showing off your experiment as we go. Day 1: Skittles Rainbow Day 2: Lemon Volcano Day 3: Walking Water Experiment Day 4: Elephant Toothpaste Day 5: Balloon Rocket Stem Activity

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, thank you so much for showing interest in my classes! My name is Heather Horn and I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have been a public school teacher for 14 years in addition to being a substitute teacher for 4 years prior to that. I am passionate about preparing littles for the beginning of their school career! Kindergarten readiness is so important to start them off on the right foot and become successful learners. Teaching kids to read is another passion of mine and such an important milestone in kindergarten, so I've had lots of experience with that. I always want to make learning fun and engaging so they come back for more! Students learn best when having fun, so that's always my goal. We love to smile, laugh, have a good time, and learn some things along the way! I hope to see you in my classroom soon!
