Class experience
This class is designed for young learners who demonstrate an interest in learning world languages and diverse cultures. During this course the following topics will be covered: Geography & Culture - locate and label countries on a map - locate historical landmarks - discuss traditional foods and beverages Comparative Languages - learn primary colors and numbers up to 10 - introduction to cognates while watching and listening to authentic videos and/or short films
The intended goals are to increase global awareness, develop cultural competency, and introduce young learners to world languages.
I am certified to teach K-12 Spanish, Bilingual Special Education, English to Speakers of Other Languages, and have lived abroad studying the Romance languages.
Homework Offered

Learners will receive an agenda of the activities, handouts to be used during the class, and will need pencils/colored pencils/crayons/markers. Access to a printer is recommended, but not required. Some activities are easy to recreate on paper and some can be accessed electronically. If possible, please provide a spare electronic device (cell phone, laptop, tablet, iPad, chromebook, etc) to play **Kahoot! which is a game-based learning platform, used as educational technology in schools and other educational institutions. Parental assistance may be needed to help learners enter the game pin for kahoot. If not, they can play along with me on my screen. **Students will log on to Kahoot.it. on a separate device other than what they are using to sign on to Outschool. To start the game students will receive a pin to enter on their device and a nickname. Students will answer questions relating to the information, vocabulary, and content learned.
