Class Experience

Welcome to Preschool! In this super spring semester 18 week flexible course your learner will participate in themed activities using key preschool curriculum with resources from an actual preschool!

Each week will have a new fun theme! Your preschooler will complete weekly activities using Nearpod, printable materials along with video lessons. The weekly activities will include a variety of early literacy skills, early math skills, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, crafts, songs, science, and more! All material is created with preschool curriculum standards in mind. Every Monday you will receive a handout of the weekly lesson plan, printable materials, Nearpod links, and teacher videos. Each week you will receive a circle time video for your learner to watch. The circle time video will include calendar, days of the week, months, colors, shapes, letters, patterns, sight words, number of the week, and feelings.

Even though we do not have live sessions you can still expect plenty of interaction! Throughout the week we will communicate through the classroom page. Everyone will participate and interact with one another. Every week we will do a question of the week. The question of the week will be posted on Wednesdays.

If your learner is struggling or needs extra support please let me know and I will work with you! This class is for all abilities and skill levels. Flexible courses are great for busy families and littler learners. You are able to complete the lessons when your preschooler is ready to learn. This is a great option for someone who is shy or can easily be distracted by a live session.

I provide teacher videos of individual activities in hope that your learner can do these activities with minimal assistance.

Hello! My name is Jessica—my students call me Ms. Jessica. I've been an online educator since 2020, and my passion for teaching is deeply rooted in both my academic background and personal journey.

I hold a B.S. in Management and Leadership (2016) and went on to pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Special Education. During that time, I also made the choice to homeschool my children, which gave me firsthand insight into creating engaging and flexible learning experiences.

When it comes to teaching I have years of substitute teaching experience and online teaching (5 years). When pursuing my Masters of Teaching in Special Education I did intensive courses on reading intervention and ways to help struggling students and have been able to apply that when homeschooling my own kids and tutoring others.

My personal life has greatly influenced how I teach. My younger brother has Autism, and my oldest son has Down syndrome. These experiences have shaped my understanding of diverse learning needs and helped me create inclusive, supportive environments where every student can thrive.

I offer classes that reflect my passions and the interests I share with my kids—ranging from earth science and bird watching to interactive book clubs. I believe learning should be joyful, meaningful, and tailored to each child's strengths.

I can't wait to learn and explore with your learner!
