I’m excited to meet you and teach you new words in this beginner Spanish class for elementary aged students.🌟.🌟.🌟 💃 The students will learn new vocabulary words, use them to sentences and practice pronouncing them correctly. 💃 This class is an immersion class with 70% Spanish and 30% English. 💃 You can jump in at any time with no previous knowledge necessary to start the fun in learning the beautiful Spanish Language. 💃 My style of teaching helps students visualize the words they are learning and help them stay engaged. 💃 We will start with the Spanish alphabet as a warm up before each lesson, then go into the lesson, and have fun doing interactive games or quizzes! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🌟 🌟 🌟CLASS CONTENT🌟 🌟 🌟 Week #1: Animales (Animals) Week #2: Numeros 1 a 10 (Numbers from 1 to 10) Week #3: Colores (Colors) Week # 4: Comida (Food) Week # 5: The body (El cuerpo) Week # 6: Familia (Family) Week # 7: Insectos (Insects) Week # 8: El tiempo y estaciones (The weather and Seasons) Week # 9: Naturaleza (Nature) Week # 10: Ropa (Clothes) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🌟 🌟 🌟CLASS ROUTINE🌟 🌟 🌟 Below is an example of what a class schedule could look like. 5 minutes --- Introductions and gathering materials and learning a popular Spanish phrase such as “Yo como _____?” 10 minutes --- Learn new Spanish words and use them in sentences based on the class topics listed for that week. We do this in a conversational-style that helps build familiarity and memory. 10 minutes --- Take quizzes to help the students memorize their new words in a fun and interactive way. 5 minutes --- If there is time, students will be allowed to ask me how to say words that they are curious about. This promotes interest in the subject and they can walk away learning something that they are captivated by. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let’s go Kids! Come along, and enjoy this interactive and fun way to learn Spanish! Previous attendance or knowledge is not required. This ongoing class meets once a week. See you in the classroom!

Nearpod for parents:
Nearpod is an interactive site that lets your child play games, draw on the screen and more as part of your teacher's lesson. You will join the Nearpod lesson with a code your teacher will give you or with a direct link. Log into Nearpod ahead of class so you are ready to go! You do not need to create an account with Nearpod.
Using Nearpod with one device :
If your using a computer is your main device go to https://nearpod.com/student/ and type in the code. OR click on the direct link if that is shared. You will need to split your screen so you can see your teacher and nearpod at the same time. Click and drag holding the top bar of your zoom window to one side of your screen. Do the same with the nearpod window. OR right click on the bottom task bar and select view windows side by side.
If an ipad or tablet is your main device, download the free Nearpod app. Type in the code. Double click the home button to go from Nearpod to Zoom.
Using Nearpod with two devices :
If you have access to two devices, you can log into zoom on one device and use Nearpod on a second
device (ipad, tablet, phone...) Download the Free app on your ipad/tablet. You will be able to see the teacher and interact with Nearpod at the same time.

For class, children don’t need to bring any materials with them. Just a happy attitude and willingness to participate in the lesson.

I have grown up speaking and writing in Spanish and still use it regularly with my friends and family. Also, I have earned twelve college credits and a Spanish interpreting certificate. As a fluent Spanish speaker, I would love to teach new students correct pronunciation and basic sentence structure, as well as popular words and phrases in this exciting language.
