Class Experience
Get ready to have fun with your amigos and learn Spanish! In this 12 week semester class, learners will meet weekly in small groups to focus on the basics of the Spanish language. No prior Spanish exposure is required. Week 1Lesson 1¡Bienvenidos!Learners will be introduced to numbers, days of the week, and different greetings they can use when meeting someone.Week 2Lesson 2¿Qué Tiempo Hace Hoy?Students will learn about different types of weather.Week 3Lesson 3¿Cómo estás?Students will learn how to ask how a friend feels, and also how to respond to someone asking them how they feel.Week 4Lesson 4Los Meses y Las EstacionesIn this lesson, we will discuss the 4 seasons as well as what the current month is.Week 5Lesson 5Los Números 11-20We will review the numbers 1-10 and learn how to count to 20.Week 6Lesson 6Los ColoresWe will learn our colors in Spanish.Week 7Lesson 7Los útiles escolaresIn this lesson, we will discuss all the different items we use when learning.Week 8Lesson 8Los Números 21-100In this lesson, we will be counting by tens from 10-100.Week 9Lesson 9Juegos Con ColoresThis week, we will be completing several challenges with our colors vocabulary.Week 10Lesson 10La RopaIn this lesson, we will be talking about different types of clothing.Week 11Lesson 11Mi CuerpoThis week, we will learning the names of different parts of our body.Week 12Lesson 12Mis PasatiemposDuring this lesson, we will be learning all about hobbies/activities and talking about which ones we like/do not like.

Frequency: 3-6 per weekFeedback: includedDetails: Homework in the form of review each day is highly suggested. Ten minutes of review in the form of games has been found to increase the learner's retention of Spanish as well as give them more confidence in speaking.Projects

Frequency: 1 after class completionDetails: Official grades are not given, but each learner will receive a certificate of completion.
Learners will need a small white board and marker each week. Other materials that will be needed periodically include coloring materials, glue, scissors and blank paper. Handouts that may be needed will be available in the classroom and will need to be printed prior to the start of the class meeting.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
