Class Experience

Lapbooking is a fun and creative way to learn. A lapbook is a simple file folder that contains a variety of foldables, mini books, and other items that are related to a specific topic. In this 4 week class, students will create their own lapbook in Spanish about themselves. During week one, we will talk about our physical traits and design a piece for our lapbook. In week two, we will discuss and make foldables for our lapbook of our favorites such as our favorite color, food, book, etc...In week three, we will assemble a piece for our lapbook about what we want to be when we grow up. Week four will include a discussion about a favorite trip or vacation, or a place we would like to visit, and we will create a foldable.  No prior exposure to Spanish is required. Each class meeting will begin with a short lesson to teach the specific vocabulary. PowerPoint presentations will be used as well as visual props. We will work on our lapbooks together during the remaining time, and students may add additional items to their lapbook after the class ends. Materials for this class are listed in the materials section. Some items may be substituted and you may also use other items in addition to what is listed.

Supply List

-Handouts will need to be printed prior to the start of each class meeting. In addition, please make sure your child has the following supplies:
-one file folder- it may be any color. A large piece of construction paper may be substituted.
-colored paper such as cardstock or construction paper. Plain white paper may be substituted.
-crayons, markers, or colored pencils
-scissors
-glue

Optional items: ruler, stickers, scrapbooking embellishments, stapler, scrapbooking scissors

External Resources

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

¡Hola amigos! My name is Señora Faith and I LOVE teaching Spanish to children! 

Here are some fun facts about me: 

⭐️ I live in Florida where I can use the Spanish language on a daily basis! 
⭐️ I have over 20 years of experience teaching children of all ages.
⭐️ I speak three languages fluently -- Portuguese, Spanish, and English. I also studied both French and German for several years and am currently learning Chinese! 
⭐️ I graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Language Education. I also lived in Spain and was able to study at the University of Madrid! 
⭐️ I have worked in schools teaching classes and small groups, and also have experience teaching homeschoolers as well.
⭐️ When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, and cheering on our favorite sports teams! 

✨ My Spanish classes are fun and informative, and will get your children speaking Spanish right away! I use bright, colorful visuals, as well as songs and games in each lesson. I can't wait to meet you all and start speaking Spanish together!
