Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
In this weekly ongoing class, students will learn about about a different aspect of space each week (stars, planets, solar systems, moons, etc...)
The class will begin with a vibrant presentation and engaging discussion on the topic of the week. Learners will be encouraged to participate in the conversation and ask/answer questions.
Next, they will participate in the game of the week to consolidate learning. The game of the week may be trivia, guess the word, fill in the blank, etc...
Finally, students will create a simple craft based on the topic of the week. The supply list will be posted a week in advance, or sent to the student after they have registered (unless the student signs up close to the class' start time.) If you do not have the materials, your child can improvise with whatever you happen to have at home.

Here is the breakdown of the weeks:

Week of May 18: Traveling to the Moon
Supplies Needed:
A boot or an old shoe (it will get a bit dirty but should rinse off easily!)
There are 3 craft options.
Option 1: A tray with flour/sand
Option 2: Paper, washable paint, and a paintbrush
Option 3: Paper and coloring materials

Week of May 25: Exoplanets
Week of June 1: Layers of the Earth
Week of June 15: Let's Explore Stars
Week of June 22: Let's Explore Moons
Week of June 29: Let's Explore Solar Systems
Week of July 6: Let's Explore Galaxies
Week of July 13: Meteors, Asteroids, Comets, Oh My!
Week of July 20: Constellation Creation

This is a beginner level course. Students do not need to have any previous knowledge about space in order to participate.
This is an ongoing class and although all of the topics are related, they are not cumulative. Students may drop in and out at any time.

I look forward to teaching your children all about space!
