US Grade 1 - 3
In this weekly ongoing class, students will learn about about a different aspect of space each week (stars, planets, solar systems, moons, etc...) The class will begin with a vibrant presentation and engaging discussion on the topic of the week. Learners will be encouraged to participate in the conversation and ask/answer questions. Next, they will participate in the game of the week to consolidate learning. The game of the week may be trivia, guess the word, fill in the blank, etc... Finally, students will create a simple craft based on the topic of the week. The supply list will be posted a week in advance, or sent to the student after they have registered (unless the student signs up close to the class' start time.) If you do not have the materials, your child can improvise with whatever you happen to have at home. Here is the breakdown of the weeks: Week of October 6: Let's Explore Moons Supplies Needed: Black paper (or any color) Tin foil (or crumpled up paper) Paint (black/white/grey) and a plate to pour it on Optional: glitter or sequins Week of October 13: Let's Explore Solar Systems Week of October 20: Let's Explore Galaxies Week of October 27: Meteors, Asteroids, Comets, Oh My! *Daylight Savings* Week of November 3: Constellation Creation Week of November 10: Milky Way Day Week of November 17: Planet Explorers Week of November 24: The Sun: Our Star!
