While playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, students will have the opportunity to improve their gaming strategy while simultaneously working on their multi-tasking, critical thinking, social skills, and problem-solving abilities. The course will be a private game through the Nintendo Switch console. There can only be up to 4 learners playing at a time; additional students will spectate as they get ready to battle. In each round, there will be a rotation system set up (depending on the number of students) to ensure that everyone gets to battle in a timely and fair manner. Also, five minutes before the class starts, I will have a classroom post with the Arena ID so everyone can join the 'battle arena' and select their preferred stage and fighter. This will give more time for everyone to be involved in the game longer. All of the settings and game rules (such as time limitation and battle format) will be carefully monitored through my account. Also, all of the language, discussion, and environment throughout the course will be age-appropriate in order to ensure a welcoming atmosphere regardless of the playing level of the students. Also, along with a device to join the zoom meeting, students will need to have their Nintendo Switch console and the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game in order to join and play the game. Also, I suggest that students have the latest Smash Bros. and Nintendo Switch updates downloaded on their devices to avoid delays from technical issues. This ongoing format will allow students to drop in and out at any time. Students do not have to attend previous classes in order to join a later class date. The following is the schedule with the different days and times: WEEKLY SCHEDULE: MONDAYS 11 AM PST TUESDAYS 10 AM PST 12 PM PST WEDNESDAYS 1 PM PST THURSDAYS 3 PM PST FRIDAYS 12 PM PST SATURDAYS 10 AM PST If you need a different time slot or do not see an upcoming class that your learner is wanting, please feel free to message me and I will do my best to accommodate. Thank you! Teacher Ari

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from San Jose State University
I have over five years of experience working with children—as a substitute teacher for K-12 students, working as an instructional assistant in Special Education, and providing behavioral therapy for children with autism. My wife and I have also been foster parents for six children and I believe that every child has great potential of being a success through their passions. I teach social club classes for Marvel and video game fans.
I have a Bachelor's in Sociology with a minor in Radio, Television, and Film, which included studying film history and writing. I have hands-on experience with filming videos and analyzing film elements (such as plot, setting, and structure). I have been a Marvel fan for over 15 years and enjoy having conversations and researching each Marvel project. In addition to Marvel, I love everything about Disney, from Pixar and Disney Plus to Disneyland. I also have a podcast that I love co-hosting with my wife!
As we study, discuss, and analyze the world of entertainment, I want to help and support everyone that comes into my class. I cannot wait to see y'all soon!
