Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello Outschool Families! I am Mrs. Michele and I love being part of the Outschool community! I have a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and I have taught at a daycare, ESL 1st grade classroom, and Pre-K/Preschool settings for over 20 years.
Here is a little more information of my time in the classroom:
*While in college I worked at a daycare where I was responsible for creating the summer camp curriculum for school aged children.
*I have taught 1st grade in an ESL classroom.
*I have taught at a musical enrichment preschool with 2-5 year old's.
*I have taught 3 and 4 year old's at a curriculum based preschool.
*I have taught ESL and other preschool/kindergarten type online classes.
My favorite part of being an online teacher is getting to meet children all around the world. I truly have the best job!
I have two daughters and one son. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids. I love watching my kids play sports, going for walks, and traveling.
In my classroom we will have FUN! I love to incorporate songs, dancing, singing, and movement into each class. I am a firm believer in letting kids have fun while learning will enhance their love for education. I will bring a lot of energy to each class to keep your child engaged and ready to learn.
As a teacher I stand behind the thought, "Every child is gifted. They just unwrap their packages at different times."
I hope your child joins me in class soon! I would love to get to know them and bring my love of learning to each of them! See you soon!
CLASS POLICIES:
ENROLLMENT
My classes have 6 spots each. In the event your child is the only learner enrolled in the class I will reach out to you before class to make sure your child is comfortable taking the class alone. If they are not comfortable, I can transfer him/her to another class or fully refund you for the class.
MUTED/UNMUTED
I prefer to leave all learners UNMUTED. I like to encourage participation from all learners. If you need to mute your child for any reason please do so. I just ask for you to show your child how to unmute themselves or be near by for when they are ready to speak or I ask them a question. There may be times I will need to mute a learner due to background noise that is distracting to others. I will let the child know I am muting them and for the reason to limit the background noise and they are welcome to unmute themselves when it is less noisy at their home or when they are ready to speak. Thank you for your understanding with this.
NO SHOWS
If there are no students in the Zoom classroom when I begin class I will wait 10 minutes per OUTSCHOOL’S policy before exciting. Once I exit the classroom, the class is considered finished.
SIBLINGS
Siblings are more than welcome to join us for class. Per Outschool policy each learner in the classroom must be enrolled into the class. Siblings are always welcome to share the same screen for class.
REFUNDS
Per Outschool's limited refund policy I will "Fully refund within 24 hours of purchase or up to a week in advance of the class." If you are unable to attend class, please let me know and I can transfer you to another class. By doing this it allows other learners the opportunity to enroll into the class. If you contact me after class, I am unable to refund or transfer you. I understand there are situations or emergencies out of your control. Please message me and we can discuss our options if needed.
RECORDINGS
Please message me to request the recording for class.
