Super Power Readers Club Come and join the Super Power Readers Club! In this club we will read fun books and learn new skills and strategies for reading. Becoming a more powerful reader will help you have more fun reading! This class combines “story time” while teaching new skills to students in decoding, phonics, fluency and comprehension. I will teach foundational reading skills and comprehension strategies to your child. Each class will introduce a new story and a new reading strategy....
Students will apply reading strategies to their reading and improve fluency and comprehension.
I am a certified teacher for students Kinder through 12th grade. I have a reading endorsement and an Education Specialist in Literacy Leadership degree from Michigan. I have a masters of English from the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College. Formerly, I taught Children's Literacy at the college level, so I have a broad background and knowledge of Children's literature.
Homework Offered
Students will read 40 minutes on their own, (can be in 3 sessions) and write a short summary of what they have learned.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
