I have practiced Karate DO since I was 9 years old and through that, it has become my passion. I am a 5th degree black belt and a world karate champion. I love working with kids, and I have helped many achieve their goal of becoming black belts and excellent athletes. Karate is my lifestyle and through it, I teach discipline, courage, and perseverance. My goal is to teach kids to be the best version of themselves. I am offering this course because throughout my 15 years of teaching experience, I have realized how many benefits children acquire from the sport. Students develop strength, flexibility, confidence, language skills and communication, as well as an interest in global culture. This class will provide a valuable introduction to the skill, as well as encourage children to develop the courage to learn new skill sets. In this course your child will learn what it truly means to be a karate kid.
Have fun practicing the movement learned in class, and teach them to your family and friends. The philosophy is based on practice and engagement.

45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Classes will be 100% interactive. With that said, student cameras must be turned on throughout the whole duration of class. Parents should supervise their children in order to ensure they are in a safe area. This class is movement based, so be sure your child has plenty of room to stretch, jump, and workout. Parents are allowed and encouraged to supervise and assist their children during activities. It is recommended that this occur during your child’s first classes in order to help him/her feel more confident during the class. Once your child becomes more comfortable with the exercises and class, they will become more independent leaners. Students practicing indoors can practice barefoot, but students practicing outdoors are recommended to use closed toe shoes or sneakers.
It is not required to wear a karate uniform (Karate Gi), children only need to wear comfortable sports clothing, but it is recommended to wear a lightweight Karate uniform and a white belt. They are available on Amazon at very reasonable prices or at a local martial arts supply store. Link to Amazon suggestions: Pro Force 6 oz.
