Class Experience

This is a Flexible Schedule class. There are NO LIVE MEETINGS.
In this very basic knitting class, we will cover the steps of casting on using the long tail cast on method, knitting the basic knit stitch, and casting off our product at the end of the course. Each week I will post a video introducing the featured technique, followed by an explanation and demonstration of the featured technique. Students will be encouraged to post a photos of their work in each stage. I will host an Office Hours session weekly the day following the video posting to answer questions, trouble shoot issues and encourage and facilitate discussion among the learners.
In addition to the hosted office hours, we will all post pictures of our progress. Students can vote on which color yarn I will work with, and we will have a poll about what aspects are our favorite parts of knitting.
The first week will focus on casting on our first stitches.
The second week will focus on the basic knit stitch, and the process of knitting the bulk of the towel.
The third session will cover trouble shooting, correcting mistakes, and knit along conversations.
The fourth and final week will cover casting off and finishing our towels.
Learners should know what knitting needles are, and should understand how to follow step by step instructions.
