US Grade 4 - 6
Welcome 6th graders! During this fun 2-week 🌞summer math camp🌞 students entering 6th grade will review important concepts that are taught in 5th grade to help them build confidence for when school starts in the fall! The topics covered in this course are aligned with the CCSS (Common Core State Standards) as a guide for instruction. ________________________________________________ This engaging math camp is designed for students who have completed 5th grade math as a review and prep for 6th grade. We will be reviewing some of the most important math skills that are taught in fifth grade. Advanced 4th graders entering 5th grade are also welcome to join this camp for a preview of 5th grade math. ________________________________________________ Please see the syllabus for a detailed 🗓️CAMP SCHEDULE! ________________________________________________ Each session will include: 🌞a math warm up 📒a mini lesson with guided practice of the daily focus skill 😁an interactive game/activity to practice the daily focus skill 📝optional extra practice to solidify the daily focus skill after camp Campers will be encouraged to submit their extra practice to the teacher for feedback. Feedback will be provided within 24 hours of each submission. ⏰Each camp session will last 50 minutes, but the teacher will remain in class for an additional 10 minutes for students who have questions about the daily focus skill. ________________________________________________ My goal is to help students MAKE SENSE of what they are learning, and not just memorize content. Mrs. Rodebush has 7 years of classroom experience teaching 5th grade math as a licensed educator in the state of Arkansas. She is the creator of the Math Simplified curriculum that is utilized throughout this course. She helps upper elementary students comprehend math concepts through student engagement and structured teaching strategies.
