Class experience
Learn to paint ocean waves in this fun acrylics class using layers of colors. We will practice correctly loading our brushes with paint using them to achieve the desired effect. We will talk about different colors and why they go together. Students will be allowed to choose their own sky colors for this painting. We will discuss how to help the objects pop in our painting. Mainly we will be playing with the paint and exploring the texture techniques we can achieve, with a little color...
Students will learn about foreground and background techniques and how to use brushes with acrylics along with a little color theory.
I have been painting, and teaching art for over twenty years and am always inspired by my students creativity.
A paint shirt, acrylics will stain clothes. One 8 by 10 canvas. One 1/2 inch flat brush, and one #12 round brush that comes to a nice point. Acrylic paints: black, brown, white, blue, red, orange, purple, yellow, and green along with colors of their choice for the fields, I used the whole rainbow for mine :) Palette paper (or a foam plate works) Paper towels, and a bowl of water.
