A Cyanotype is a very early and simple method of making a photographic print. The cyanotype process creates beautiful blue tones, using the light of the sun! The cyanotype process uses a special mixture of two chemicals: ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide. When these two chemicals are combined, the mixture becomes sensitive to UV (sun) light, which means it changes when exposed to light, turning blue. Students will create cyanotypes prints between class 1 and 2.
1 file available upon enrollmentStudents will need some premade Cyanotype type Paper, which is easy to find online. This paper will be packaged inside a sealed black envelope and should not be opened and exposed to light until students are ready to create their images after the 1st class.
