Students can join and leave this weekly class any time. Join me once a week to practice reading and learn about the animals at the zoo where I work. Each week, students receive a personal story about one of the animals at the zoo. They can practice reading the story before, during and after each week’s class. We will end each week’s lesson with a fun game testing the reader’s comprehension skills. This class will include group and individual reading practice, reading comprehension, videos about the animals in the stories each week and fun group participation. Students can participate as much or little as they choose, but each student will be encouraged to try some reading every class. This is a safe place for learners at all levels to have fun practicing reading while learning some cool facts about their favorite animals. Hello there!
I love teaching students of all ages! I have over 20 years experience teaching students ranging in age from 4 to college level students. I strive to create a fun and engaging classroom where each student is eager to learn and participate. My mission is to make learning enjoyable and memorable.
My areas of expertise are communications and public speaking, but I love teaching science and animal related courses and helping students work on their reading skills. I currently travel around the country doing test prep classes for high school students.
I also have a passion for teaching younger students how to read. I have my ESL certification, a BS in Communications from the University of Tennessee and a MA in Business Management from Tusculum University.
I live in beautiful East Tennessee with my husband Chris, one bunny, three golden doodles and a yorkie!
