Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 8
Get ahead or catch up! This summer class will cover the core concepts of 7th grade math —perfect for students looking to review before 8th grade or get a strong head start before starting 7th grade in the Fall.

Flexible Participation: Join for the topics you need help with.

In this course, students will build a strong foundation while learning how to think through problems step by step. I use a gradual learning model where first I demonstrate the material, then we do it together, and finally the student does it on their own—to help students gain confidence and independence.

Classes are interactive and focused on helping students understand why math works, not just how to get the right answer. Through questions, discussion, and lots of practice, students will become strong problem solvers who can explain their thinking.

Each class includes:

5 minutes of review to refresh key ideas
15 minutes of guided instruction
15 minutes of independent practice
10 minutes of fun, game-style group practice using Blooket (optional—students can also continue working independently)
5 minutes to wrap up, ask questions, and check understanding

Students will receive written class notes each class so they can focus on learning rather than copying. Practice problems with an answer key will also be posted after each class for extra review.

To help ease math anxiety, students can submit answers and ask questions privately during work time through chat, and I will respond privately as well. Students are always welcome to reach out anytime through the classroom or Outschool messaging if they’d prefer to ask questions outside of class.

I’ll ask guiding questions throughout each lesson to encourage independent thinking, but I will never call on students randomly to answer—this keeps our learning space low-pressure, supportive, and focused on growth.
