Grab your favorite teddy bear and get comfortable to hear a story about a bear. In this multi day class, the students will listen to a story about a bear. Some of the books that will be read are: How Joe The Bear and Sam The Mouse Got Together~focus will be on sequencing the story and retelling the events, discussing the ending and what the author was trying to teach us, and talking about friends in a text to self discussion. ~Students will use their listening skills to learn about bears both fiction and non fiction. ~Students will use their social skills to interact with other learners. ~Students will use their verbal skills to discuss favorite parts of the story. ~Students will use verbal skills to talk about the elements of a story: characters, setting, problem, solution and ending. ~Students will make text to self connections. ~Students will make text to text connections. ~Students will use communication skills to sequence a story using first, next, then, last. ~Students will use verbal skills to discuss the author's purpose. ~Students will hear a story read with fluency and expression.
