Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.

Students will learn a variety of new vocabulary words in preparation for the PSAT or SAT Testing Experience.
I worked for The Nantucket Learning Group as a PSAT/SAT Tutor in the Summer of 2018. I have also consulted with various students on an individual basis about their approach to standardized test taking. During the last seven academic years, I have worked as an English teacher and as a faculty member of a learning center. My undergraduate degree is in English and my master's degree is in Education: School Counseling and Human Development.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be asked to define the previously learned words or to use them in a sentence as the class progresses. The repetition of encountering the words on repeated occasions will help to solidify student learning.
3 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 4+ hours per week outside of class.
