In this five-day online class (with five live meetings), students will work to learn new vocabulary words to prepare for the PSAT or SAT test.

PowerPoint slides with colorful pictures will be used to introduce the definitions of the PSAT/SAT vocabulary words. Examples of sentences that utilize those words will be provided by the teacher. Students will then be invited to recall the previously learned words and to use them in sentences. Students will be encouraged to engage in calculated risk-taking with their approach to encountering new vocabulary words. The teacher will strive to create a "safe" environment where making mistakes is a valued and understandable part of the learning process. The class will meet 1x per day for 40 minutes for a 5 day long summer camp. * Tentative Class Schedule: Day 1: 8 Parts of Speech, 10 Vocabulary Words Day 2: 15 Vocabulary Words Day 3: 15 Vocabulary Words Day 4: 15 Vocabulary Words Day 5: 5 Vocabulary Words + Review of all 60 Words *We will slow down or speed up the pace of the lessons on any given day to accommodate student needs.
