**This is an ongoing class. You will continue to be billed for each meeting until you unsubscribe** This class is the perfect way to keep your skills sharp over summer and get ready for 7th grade! Each class will review a different 6th-grade math topic. My teaching style is an interactive lecture with lots of examples and practice problems. I'll ask each learner specific questions to check for understanding. At the beginning of the class, I'll explain the topic and then we'll do some practice problems together and individually. Each class always ends with a game that uses the skills we've reviewed such as bingo or Kahoot competitive quizzes. Learners should have already completed a full year of 6th-grade (or advanced 5th grade) math. Because of the activities we’ll be doing, learners should be able to copy/paste and navigate back and forth between zoom and their internet browser. They may on occasion need to know how to do split-screen or have two devices available. Here is the weekly schedule: Week of June 7th: Exponents and Order of Operations Week of June 14th: Prime Factorization, Least Common Multiple, Greatest Common Factor Week of June 21st: Operations with Fractions Week of June 28th: Operations with Decimals Week of July 5th: Integers and the Coordinate Plane Week of July 12th: Writing and Evaluating Algebraic Expressions Week of July 19th: Solving One-Step Equations and Inequalities Week of July 26th: Area of composite figures, triangles, and trapezoids.
