This is a social club for girls who love to read and chat with others about the books they're reading. Literature/ Reading/ English/ Clubs/ Books/ Girls

Class Experience

This is a student led book club. During each class meeting, each learner will share about what she's currently reading, giving a casual oral book review. Other learners can ask questions and compare ideas and opinions about the books under discussion. Bring the book you're currently reading to class with you, along with any others you've recently read and may want to share. If you are 10 - 13 years old and love to read and share, you are welcome to join this club!

Students will build reading comprehension and fluency 
Students will consider and discuss author's craft and literary elements

Students are responsible to read a minimum of 150 pages every week in their book of choice.

Access to books of their choice

45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 4+ hours per week outside of class.

***While students are free to select their own books,(with approval) care must be taken to avoid those with content that may be seen as age inappropriate for many families, such as sexual content, violence, cruelty,  content with a specific religious or political perspective, or other highly sensitive issues. Students must get approval for their book selections from their caregivers prior to sharing in class.

If a parent or student has issues with any approved book content that is shared in class, please notify me directly so we can find a solution to the issue.
