It’s almost summertime! This is a perfect time to reinforce reading skills learned throughout the year. Summer learning loss is a very real and can impact students achievement . They can lose about up to two months of reading if not exposed to opportunities and experiences during the summer months. All the years gains can effect the following school year. It is important to reinforce reading comprehension over the summer. In this class, we will review all comprehension skills needed to be successful in September. There will be many hands-on activities , games, fun vocabulary in class. Reading is an important skill needed to succeed in life. This class will offer strategies to help all students become more proficient in reading. This class provides students with practice that can help them get to the next level of reading. The students will have ample opportunities to read and practice skills reviewed in class. I will focus on each students needs and monitor their progress throughout class. I will also help them work on skills needed to progress to become better readers. The students will actively participate and work on strategies for their reading Reading comprehension is an important skill needed to understand text. This class will focus in on reading comprehension skills. Students will use a variety of skills to comprehend text. Reading with strong comprehension skills is key to success in reading. In this class, the students will read a wide variety of genres that are interested to them. I believe that all children can be successful in learning how to read. I want to motivate the students with important reading strategies needed to learn text. I want them to feel excited and less anxious about reading!
