Class Experience

What is the best way to become a better reader? Practice! Practice! Practice! In this 4 day Reading camp, students will be introduced to different genres of reading through a teacher mini lesson and read aloud, make reading goals, and share favorite books with their classmates.  The format of the class will include discussion of reading goals, a teacher mini-lesson on different genres, and time for students to share a favorite book.  The goal is to encourage students to read for fun and to introduce them to different types of books.  Students will complete their reading before or after class.

Day 1: Realistic Fiction
Day 2: Fantasy
Day 3: Chapter Books
Day 4: Non-fiction

Other Details

Supply List
Students are encouraged to bring a favorite book to share each class.  The book can match the genre that we are learning about, but doesn't have to.  Paper and a pencil may be needed too.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
