US Grade Kindergarten
In this class, students will receive explicit instruction and review phonic skills learned in kindergarten. The students will actively participate in interactive hands-on lessons in themed based summer fun activities and games! These summer phonics based instruction will engage students and provide reading practices to motivate them in an exciting way.
During this class, the students will review and practice long and short vowel sounds, diagraphs, silent e, and cvc words. They...1. Students will correctly segment the beginning, middle, and end of a word. 2. Students will know the spell-sound phonics and word analysis skills for decoding words. 3. Students will be able to differentiate between long and short vowel sounds. 4. Students will practice and manipulate sounds in words to reinforce reading skills. 5.Students will blend two letters together to better understand diagraphs.
I have taught phonics in my class for over 25 years. I have received training in Fundations through my school district.
