Do you want a way to keep your child reading this summer? Each summer I offer a summer reading challenge class to do just that. This year the Summer Olympics will be held July 26 - Aug 11. What better way to get your child involved in current events and practice reading at the same time! We will begin with a brief welcome to class allowing students time for any introductions of new students and time to share any Olympic related news they have discovered. The first activity everyday will be a guided reading activity relating to a summer olympic sport, a famous olympian, olympic symbols or mascot. The students will be able to show their comprehension skills through written activities/Kahoot games. When applicable, a short related video clip may be shown to the students. Each class will conclude with directions for a special craft or puzzle that can be completed after class. Materials for these crafts/puzzles will be provided in the classroom notes. Classes are independent of each other allowing students to join as their schedule permits. Payment each week included 2 classes and videos of class will be available for enrolled students to watch if they must miss a class any given week.
