Summer Maths English Stories and Craft Class
Children will learn all about summer, through stories and non fiction read alouds and fun activities to print off. I will also provide instructions for an optional homework activity which will be a summer themed art and craft project.

Description
Class Experience
Students will learn plenty of facts about Summer such as why we have seasons, what foods are available, what is the summer solstice, what events and celebrations we have, etc. This involves listening skills and comprehension. Then our activities will all be summer themed however they will include some reading, writing and maths. The homework activity is all based on art and craft so will involve being creative and following step by step instructions. This art project will also be a great time to bond with family members as the whole family can take part.

Every week I will give out a simple art and craft project which will be summer themed. The following lesson we can have a quick show and tell so all students can see what everyone has made. However this homework is optional, and if parents or students don’t wish to do any work outside of class, that’s absolutely fine too.
4 files available upon enrollmentPlease print out the 3 activities which I will send to you prior to each class. The homework art project doesn’t need printing unless you want to. Also bring to class pencils, colouring pencils, pens, scissors and glue.
I will not be formally assessing any of the students work. We will have plenty of time for discussion on what we have learned throughout the class and I will be able to see the activities that they have completed.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
These classes will not require any parental guidance. If the class involves some cutting and sticking, parents can cut out any required bits of paper before the class starts, if they feel like using scissors could be dangerous for their child.
I will be using ebooks to read to the class, which I have stated in the course description. I will also be providing print off activities which I will send prior to each meeting.
