Summer Math Fun - Getting Ready for Kindergarten! (Homeschool/ESL Friendly)

Engaging kids in fun activities is key to help them through their reading and writing skills development. This class will help your kid increase their academic ability, while feeling excited about learning! Each class DOES NOT build from previous ones, so you can choose those topics that your kid enjoys or needs the most!

Using the I do, You do, We do Approach, the student will have the opportunity to practice kindergarten Math skills. The teacher will encourage participation by asking prompting questions and will complete the lesson with an assessment game.

Each class will follow the format:
- Presentation of skill (why is it important)
-Examples and supports
-Independent practice
-Games

The topics/skills that will be discussed per week are as follows:

Week of June 12th - Counting Numbers to 100
Week of June 19th - Comparing Numbers to 10 (lees than, more than, equal to)
Week of June 26th - Decompose numbers within 10
Week of July 3rd - Add and Subtract within 5
Week of July 10th - Geometry Patterns
Week of July 17th - Recognizing Shapes
