Class Experience

US Grade 2
**This is a Self-Paced Class which means no live meetings**

This class will review 2nd grade math topics based on common core standards. We will focus on reviewing place value up to 1,000 and using place value to compare numbers. Learners will review adding and subtracting 2-digit and 3-digit numbers with and without regrouping using the standard algorithm. Your child will review telling time, money, measuring in inches, feet, centimeters, and meters. We will review making and interpreting graphs, identifying and describing shapes, and the foundations of multiplication.

Video lessons will be Edpuzzle lessons which allows for a more interactive experience. Each video lesson will include the teacher introducing and reviewing the targeted skill and any relevant vocabulary. Video lessons are typically 10 minutes or less. The teacher will model multiple practice problems of the targeted skill. Independent practice will be provided for each lesson. In the self-paced format, learners will be able to complete lessons at their own pace.

Digital activities provided will use Nearpod, and Kahoot! For digital activities, responses are automatically sent to the teacher to review. For printed activities, learners can upload a picture of the completed work for teacher feedback.

Teacher feedback will be provided within 48 hours of receiving submitted work during the initial 7 week period of enrollment. Teacher feedback will come in the form of written responses, or video responses. If additional support is needed, 1:1 sessions may be scheduled based on the availability and schedule of the learner and teacher.
