Class Experience

We will discuss the basics of watercolor painting to make sure students know how to take care of brushes, clean the brushes and layer colors. Students will practice basic watercolor techniques.  The class is structured as a step by step demonstration. Students can add elements or make creative decisions in the artwork as much as they’d like. In this class I encourage conversation. Students can interact with me as much as needed. I can give positive feedback and suggestions along the way. There is no prior knowledge or art experience needed for this class. All that is needed is a positive attitude and to want to be creative and have fun!
Learning Goals
Students will draw a basic landscape using simple likes and shapes. Students will paint using basic watercolor techniques.

Watercolor paper or other paper suitable to paint on
A few paintbrushes
A pencil
A black permanent marker
Watercolor paints 
A cup of water
Paper towels

Hello, everyone! My name is Jen. My passion is art! I am a certified visual art teacher (for all grades) and a certified multiple subjects teacher (elementary level) and have been teaching art for 15 years. I primarily teach painting and drawing. My favorite thing is to see a student have fun, gain confidence and learn something in my classes! In my classes, I break steps down to make art easy and enjoyable.
