This 6 week course is a fast paced class that will equip students will foundational Pre-Algebra skills. Through structured lessons, guided practice, and real-world applications, students will develop a strong foundation in solving equations, graphing, inequalities, functions, and problem-solving techniques. This class utilizes a flipped classroom and follows an "I Do, We Do, You Do" teaching model: ✅ I Do – I introduce/review the topic, explain concepts clearly, and model step-by-step solutions. ✅ We Do – Students practice with guided problems, ask questions, and build understanding through discussion. ✅ You Do – Students work independently on problems to reinforce skills, with feedback and support as needed. By the end of the course, students will be well-prepared and confident in their Pre-Algebra skills!
Learning Goals
Students will gain pre-algebra skills to develop a strong algebra 1 foundation.Through guided practice and real-world applications, students will learn to analyze problems apply algebraic reasoning to find solutions effectively.

Integer Operations and Absolute Values
For our first lesson, we will add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers, including absolute values, as well as review the order of operations (PEMDAS). 55 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Algebraic Expressions
This session focuses on learning the basics of algebraic expressions by recognizing variables, constants, and coefficients. 55 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Solving Equations: Combining Like Terms
In this session, we will learn how to solve one-step equations by combining like-terms. 55 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Solving Equations: Distributive Property
In this session, we will learn how to solve multi-step equations by combining like-terms and the distributive property. 55 mins online live lesson
Other Details
Pre-Requisites
Due to the accelerated nature of this course, students should have strong foundational arithmetic skills (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division operations as well as math operations with fractions and decimals).
Supply List
Students will need a notebook, pencil(s), eraser(s), graphing paper, and a straight edge (e.g. ruler) for this course. Calculators are optional, but not required.
