Are you a budding performer? Do you love to dress up and put on a show? In this 4 session Drama Camp, you will get that opportunity, by planning, preparing and putting on a production of "The Wizard of Oz." A great way to explore your creativity, develop confidence and learn new skills! Class 1: Getting to know each other! - In this class, we will play drama games and get to know each other as a group. Class 2: Getting to know our play! - Students will be given a role (all roles are of the same approx. amount of lines and "stage time.") - We will read the play as a group and discuss costumes, props, etc. What ideas do we have to bring our show to life? Class 3: Rehearsal - Students will share their costume and prop ideas with the class. - We will practice the play adding in sound effects! - The Teacher/director will provide feedback on student performance and suggestions for improvement. Class 4: PERFORMANCE DAY! - Students will arrive to class ready to perform our play! - This includes costumes, make-up and props. - After a quick rehearsal, we will will record our performance! (Available after class through the classroom video!)

A digital copy of the script will be provided prior to the start of class. Costume and prop suggestions will also be provided in a hand-out.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Allison has been a drama teacher and director for the past 12 years in a school setting. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Theatre Production, as well as a Bachelor of Education. She has directed over 20 Children's Theatre productions and is excited to bring this to the virtual classroom.
