Class Experience

In this class we will learn some facts and create a craft to accompany each creepy crawly we learn about. While these reptiles and insects show up often throughout the year; we see them more often in summer due to the warmer weather each of these animals prefer. This class goes into the common questions about each animal, such as 'what do they eat?', 'what hunts them?', 'where do they live?', 'how do they grow?', and discussing why or why not they wouldn't make a good pet.

Each class start out with teacher-led discussion and hearing facts through a short video about the animal. As a class we will then discuss and fill out the go-along notes provided, and end with a craft. Information will be shared through the screen share feature.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I use to teach grades K-2, with lots of kids added in who needed different ways to learn and be successful and I loved (almost) every minute of it! Now I am a full-time homeschooling mom to 3 boys who all learn in very different ways. My classes aim to make students excited about the class topic and allow them to dig deep and represent their learning in unique ways. I love picture books and my boys love Lego's, non-traditional learning, Science, and History. So I try to combine those concepts as much as possible to create an engaging experience for students that will allow what they learn to stick with them.
