Students will submit their work and receive a formal review of their writing for parents to know where a child is shining and where a child needs improvement.

Class Experience

US Grade 1
Prevent the loss of first grade skills with this twice a week class whether students practice math and language arts skills they learned in first grade.  This class is led by an elementary education certified teacher with a Master's degree.  Each class will begin with a short reading of a book from epicbooks.com which the teacher will screenshare with the students.   

Week 1: 
Class 1: Reading Comprehension (fiction)
Class 2: Counting Coins

Week 2: 
Class 1: Reading Comprehension (non-fiction)
Class 2: Telling Time

Week 3: 
Class 1: Summarizing (fiction)
Class 2: Subtraction


Week 4: 
Class 1: Summarizing (non-fiction)
Class 2: Addition

Week 5:
Class 1: Opinion writing
Class 2: Comparing Numbers


This class is created for students leaving first grade and going into second grade to practice some of the more challenging skills so that they can retain the knowledge for second grade. 

This class is taught my a certified elementary teacher with a Master's degree in Elementary Education

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Students will be watching videos that introduce the different concepts taught. Students will also have access to a Google Sheet for themselves with the purpose of writing on it and sending it to the teacher for feedback. Students will also be viewing ELL Library to read basic paragraphs and worksheets to help improve skills.
