Often chemistry can be overwhelming!  From the periodic table to moles to reactions to electrons to Avogadro's number (what!?)...these concepts can be difficult to grasp the first time. Let me help! 

In this 5-day camp, learners will build and rebuild the skills needed for success with general chemistry.  Whether the learner has completed chemistry already and needs some review or is is enrolled in chemistry next fall, this camp is designed to build skills, confidence, and mastery.  I help each learner gain some tips, tricks, and easy to remember methods!  

The class will be full of discussion and dynamic teaching.  Learners are encouraged to bring questions and points of confusion.  We will work as a class to bring understanding to each concept.  Two hands-on activities/labs are planned.  

Here is a brief schedule of each day.
Day 1:  Atoms, Element, Compounds, Molecules - What makes up matter! 
Day 2: Periodic Table Part 1 - Cracking the Secret Code!
Day 3: Periodic Table Part 2 - Beyond the Code (Hands on Activity)
Day 4:  Bonding - Why the electron has all the fun!
Day 5:  Reactions - How the universe runs on reactions!  (Hands-on Lab)

Learners have the option to use the material list if they wish to complete the experiments with me.  Learners will be able to interact and collaborate ideas with classmates during the class.  Each will be encouraged to fully participate in each day's experiment.
