Description
Class Experience
In this ongoing class, students will learn writing skills and will work on improving their writing. This class meets four days a week. Each week, the class will be given a weekly writing goal. I will give minilessons and students will do activities that focus on the weekly goal. Students will also be given a new writing topic each week. Students will brainstorm, write a draft, revise, edit, write a final draft, and publish their writing during the week. Each week's goal and writing assignment...
Students will improve their writing by incorporating the weekly skill into their writing. Students will also practice writing by using the writing process.
I have taught as a classroom teacher for twelve years. Great writing comes from practicing and learning different writing skills. Using the writing process is a skill students need to learn to be successful writers. This class provides students with the opportunity to practice the writing process each week.
If students do not finish the assignment in class, they can finish it after class.
Students will need the following materials each week: - Graphic Organizer (This will be posted in the classroom) - Pencil - Colored Pencils (For Editing) - Notebook or Writing Paper (Lined Paper) - Crayons - Booklet (This will be posted in the classroom.)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
3 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
