US Grade 3 - 6
Does your child like superheroes? dragons? aliens? Pokemon? Mario? Magic? In this class, students will learn to take their passions to write a fantasy story. In this class students will learn how to write a story with a strong plot, characters and dialogue. Class 1: Introduction/ What is Fantasy Fiction? Students will learn what fantasy fiction is and Class 2: Brainstorming In this lessons students will brainstorm ideas for their story by creating a plot Class 3: Planning Your Story Students will work on creating a magical world or describing one in detail Class 4: Writing a Plot Students will work on character building Class 5: Drafting Students will spend this class drafting. Students will be given time to work with the teacher one-on-one Class 6: Critique Circle Students will learn how to give and receive a positive critique of their writing Class 7: Revising Students will work on revising their class. Students will be given time to work with the teacher one-on-one. Class 8: Share stories.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the writing process, literary terms, genres of writing, skills for developing strong creative writing skills, how to give and receive helpful critiques, how to analyze stories for elements and good writing.

I have a Bachelor's in Writing from Eastern Oregon University, a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Lesley University and certification as a teacher in Massachusetts for both Elementary Grades and English as a Second Language (6-12)
I'm also an active Children's Book writer and part of an international organization for children's book writers. My work is in the editing stages.
