Camp Description:
In this interactive and upbeat summer camp, learners will explore the exciting world of modern German pop music 🎶 while building their German language skills and cultural knowledge! Each day, we’ll dive into a new song—listening, decoding lyrics, learning about the artist 🎧, and discussing themes like identity, emotions, and social issues.

We’ll focus on:
🎵 Vocabulary in context
🗣️ Pronunciation and listening skills
📚 Grammar through authentic texts
🌍 Culture, trends, and real-world connections

Learners will also choose from a variety of creative project options like:
🎨 Designing a themed playlist with explanations
📰 Creating a mini artist profile
💬 Comparing German and English songs
📈 Analyzing a song’s message or theme

Projects are differentiated by language level, so whether your learner is a beginner or more advanced, they’ll feel supported and challenged!

By the end of the week, learners will:
✔️ Build confidence using German
✔️ Discover new music and artists
✔️ Complete a project that reflects their interests
✔️ Gain insight into German-speaking cultures through music

🗓️ Camp Structure:
Meets 4 times in 1 week (Mon–Thurs), 55 minutes per session

Each day includes: listening, lyric study, guided discussion, and project time

Includes interactive slides, games, music videos, breakout rooms, and group discussion

Taught in a mix of English and German depending on learner proficiency

Lesson 1:
🎧 Day 1: “Hallo, Deutschmusik!” – Intro to German Music + Basic Song Analysis
 Start your German music journey! We’ll explore what modern German music sounds like, meet a few popular artists, and learn how to listen for key words and phrases in a fun, upbeat song.

🗣️ Day 2: Sag mal, was denkst du? (What Do You Think?)
 Get ready to share your opinions—in German and English! We’ll discuss song lyrics, talk about musical styles, and compare what we like and don’t like using simple descriptive phrases.

Lesson 3:
💖 Day 3: Musik & Gefühle (Music and Emotions)
 How do songs show emotion? Today’s tunes are all about love, friendship, and growing up. We’ll learn emotional vocabulary and talk about how music helps us express ourselves.

🌍 Day 4: Musik mit Bedeutung (Music with Meaning)
 Today’s songs have something to say. We’ll look at lyrics that deal with real-world topics like identity, acceptance, or the environment, and talk about how music can inspire change.
