In this fun class students will participate in singing some of their favorite songs, have calendar time, count and go on a shape and color scavenger hunt. We will start with our welcome song and then sing some of our favorite songs. Fan favorites include: The Itsy Bitsy Spider, Old McDonald Had a Farm, Open Shut, and Sleeping Bunnies. Then we will have story time! Each day we will read one "Summer themed" book. After story time will will fill in our calendar and talk about the weather! We will dress Weather Bear in lots of fun clothes--each student will get a chance to pick clothes to put on Weather Bear. Finally, we will go on a Summer Scavenger Hunt! The items for the hunt will be colors of the rainbow. Here is the book schedule: Monday: The Night Before Summer Vacation by Natasha Wing Tuesday: Vacation for Dexter by Lindsey Ward Wednesday: Pig the Pug: Pig the Tourist by Aaron Blabey Thursday: A Day at the Beach by Kate Sinclair Friday: Summer Days and Nights By Wong Herbert Lee *All books read with permission from Scholastic
