In this five-day course, students will examine and analyze a variety of poems, ranging from odes, to narrative poems, to lyric poetry. The syllabus for the course is as follows: Day 1: Robert Frost's "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" Day 2: Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven” Day 3: The Odes of Pablo Neruda Day 4: William Blake's "A Poison Tree" Day 5: Maya Angelou's "Alone" and "Caged Bird" Each session, students will learn a bit about the poet's life and his/her motivation for writing...
