💰If this is your first class on Outschool you can add my referral code, NfuMlj44, to your profile before purchasing your first class and you will get $20 credit to spend towards your first class. To master a language you must learn FOUR main skills: 1) Listening: You have to understand what you hear. 2) Speaking: You have to be able to speak. 3) Reading: You must understand what you read. 4) Writing: You have to know how to write. It is therefore not strange to say that the more you read, the better you will understand what you read. But also, when you read a lot you will also improve your writing. This is because whenever you read something, you are passively learning the structure of language, the ideas it conveys, and the rules of grammar. But we should not stop there, these activities are also very beneficial for your speaking and listening skills. All language skills are linked, because if you enrich your vocabulary by reading, you will also have more vocabulary to speak more precisely but also to understand the vocabulary of a conversation. Come join me this summer as we embark in a reading journey. By diving into books, in Spanish, you'll come across new words and phrases that aren't part of your native tongue. This exposure helps you learn new vocabulary and understand context, ultimately helping you communicate more effectively in that language. 📌 WEEK OF: MONDAY SECTIONS (These stories are ideal for Level 1-2 students - Early Emergent Readers) July 1- Lala "The Flower Explorer" July 8- Loli the Cat and the Spring July 15- The Rainbow Animals July 22- Good Friends 📌 WEEK OF: TUESDAY SECTIONS (These stories are ideal for Level 1-3 students - Emergent Readers) July 2- Rosie the Curious Fox July 9- The Special Friendship of Fox, Raccoon, and Hedgehog July 16- The Magical Rainbow July 23- It's my Birthday! 📌 WEEK OF: WEDNESDAY SECTIONS (These stories are ideal for Level 2-4 students - Early Fluent Readers) July 3- The Kind Dragon and the Brave Princess July10- The Old Gnome's Gift of Friendship July 17- My Dad, My Superhero July 24- Our Five Senses 📌 WEEK OF: THURSDAY SECTIONS (These stories are ideal for Level 2-4 students - fluent Readers) July 4- Rainy Diary July 11- Winter Diary July 18- Summer Diary July 25- The Three Little Pigs 📍Book titles are subject to change. As the week progresses, students will be reading longer passages. They will practice reading while working on their Spanish vocabulary and grammar skills. I will be testing their understanding of each Spanish short story using comprehension questions (reflections). 📍You can enroll in as many sections as you would like (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). I will be offering a $2 refund for each addition section enrolled in. (THIS CLASS IS ALSO AVAILABLE FOR 1-on-1) 📍Prior to class, I will be posting a link, in the classroom, that will direct you to the book that we will be reading in class. This book will be in English. Students will have the opportunity to get familiarized with the book prior to class. Dual language/bilingual books are a powerful way to help learners develop vocabulary knowledge because they help transfer conceptual knowledge and skills across languages. 📍This class has been designed for students ages 6-11. If your learner is outside the age group, and has an understanding of the alphabet, phonological awareness, and early phonics, please contact me directly and I'll be happy to assist you. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. See you in the classroom! Profesora Alex
