Class Experience

Summer Camp Learn to Read: CVC Words is perfect for the young reader who has learned most of the letters and sounds and are ready to move on to reading words and sentences. This course is perfect for a child in Preschool, Kindergarten, or First Grade who is ready to begin reading. 
This ongoing course will provide hands on instruction in reading and writing short vowel cvc words, phonemic awareness skills, and sight words. Learners will be engaged in interactive google slides, games, printouts, books, and songs. Learners will be taught to use their phonics knowledge to sound out and read words and sentences.  Decodable books are used in each class for instruction. 
This class is taught by a certified teacher with over 20 years experience teaching children to read.

Students will need a dry erase board, dry erase marker, and eraser.

I have nineteen years of experience teaching young learners how to read in Kindergarten and First Grade school classroom setting. I have taught on Outschool since July 2020. I obtained my Master's Degree in Education: Reading and Literacy. I have also received the South Carolina Read to Succeed Certificate Endorsement along with 120 hour TESOL Certificate.

I taught First Grade for seventeen years and Kindergarten for two years in a public elementary school.
