Homework
1 hour per week. Students are required to cut out the paper pattern as well as all pattern pieces that will be used out of felt and fabric before the first day of class. Any student that doesn't pre-cut their project will be behind in class. The first day of class starts with assembling the legs, arms, and body.

Class Experience

In this 5-day summer camp, students will learn how to create their own soft doll using felt, polyfill, and the backstitch. Note* If the student already knows how to do the backstitch and ladder stitch that will be helpful, but it's not mandatory.

Day 1: Students will sew their dolls' arms and legs together, and will sew the body of their doll and attach the legs.

Day 2: Students will attach the dolls' hair and face, and the back of the hair to the base of the neck

Day 3: Students will attach the dolls' eyes, create the lips, and sew the head pieces together.

Day 4: Students will stuff the arms, legs, body, and head and will attach the head and arms to the body.

Day 5: Students will sew the doll's dress.

Parental Guidance
Students may need parental assistance stuffing and/or stitching their dolls evenly.
Supply List
All supplies can be purchased at Hobby Lobby, Amazon, or Joanns. Students will need the following supplies for class:

FELT SHEETS  8" x 12"
(2) pieces of skin-colored felt for the body
(1) piece of felt for the hair
(1) piece of felt for the eye color
(1) small scrap of woven ("non-stretchy") fabric for the dress (not felt)

EMBROIDERY FLOSS
(1) color to match the skin tone
(1) color to match the hair
(1) color to create lips
(1) skein of white floss to highlight the eye


(1) small bag of polyfill
(1) package of embroidery needles
 1 file available upon enrollment
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
