In this four week class that meets 2x/week, students will learn about an endangered species each week and how to help it in their own backyard.

I hold a standard teaching license for K-6 elementary education, with three years of experience teaching math to students who needed extra support with foundational skills. I have taught for five years in public schools and two years homeschooling a family member in middle school.
All forts can have the following materials:
~Chairs
~Blankets
~(any item to make a fort and set up in a space where it is okay)
~Flashlight
~Twinkle lights/holiday lights/color changing lights

Week of July 31-August 4: Native Plant Week
Class #1
~Fort materials
~Buy native flower seeds (Miss Kendria will research and tell you which ones to buy based on your location, sending a private message)
~Pipe cleaners to make flowers (15 one color, 1 different color, 3-4 green)
~pencil
~Fingernail clipper

~How to plant seeds
~Decide where will be a good space for them
~Recommended seeds from last class

Week of August 7-11: Bee Hotel Week
Class #1 ~
~Fort materials
~Pipe Cleaner Bee (1 Black, 1 yellow, 1 white)
~Pencil
~Fingernail clipper

Class #2- 
~(any item to make a fort and set up in a space where it is okay)
(All below is optional) Anything that provides holes for bees to crawl in and make their home.
~Logs (can drill holes in them)
~Hay or dried grass
~Terra Cotta pots
~Bamboo shoots
~Bricks
~Sod
~Pallets
Hammer, nails, and fingernail clippers are used. Please assist your student as we do these tasks to ensure their safety! These items can be dangerous if not used properly. I will guide students, but having your assistance will make it even more safe!
