Students will practice reading comprehension, and be introduced to a book club-type discussion. Students will learn to pick out meaningful parts of a text, as well as identify main characters and themes. Students will apply what they've learned about main characters and theme to create their own comic. 

I hold a Master's of Education and am a certified teacher with over ten years experience in education. I am certified in K-6 elementary education, 7-12 social studies education, 7-12 language arts education, and K-12 Reading education. 

Students will need to read each book before the meeting in which it is discussed. The students can read this independently, or they can listen to it be read aloud. The Dog Man books are very quick reads, each should take no more than an hour. Students can jot down thoughts as they read on the provided paper. 

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.

We will use the Dog Man series of books, and Cat Kid Comic Club series of books.
