Welcome to the 2024 Paris Olympics Summer Camp! Let's get ready for the Olympics 2024 in Paris! We will have fun in this Summer Camp with educational instruction, arts and crafts activities, games, and videos celebrating Paris and all the sports competing this summer. Let's go to Paris and the Olympics! We will learn about all the different sports, have a fun opening and closing ceremony, and tour the city of Paris! Week 1: We will study the origin and history of the Olympics with fun games, a special video presentation, and an art activity. Week 2: We will learn all about the host city of Paris, France! We will study the famous landmarks, the Seine River, and place all the venues for the events on a map. Week 3: Over the next two weeks we will learn about the different sports that will be competing in Paris and the venues they will be played in. This week we will learn about all the water sports, track & field sports, field sports, running events, weightlifting, golf, cycling, and gymnastics. Week 4: This week we will study the remainder of the events. These will include all the outdoor stadium sports, court sports, boxing, equestrian, martial arts, skateboarding and wrestling. Week 5: We will learn about the Opening Ceremony, and how the Opening Ceremony in Paris will be different, and have one of our own! Week 6: This class time will be spent reviewing the Opening Ceremony on the Seine River, starting a medal count graph, reviewing the schedule for the events, and watching highlights from the start of the games. Of course, a fun game and activity too! Week 7: We will update our medal count, discuss the results from the past week, watch top highlights, and play a trivia game based on all we've learned together. Week 8: We will update our medal count, discuss the results from the past week, watch top highlights, and then have our Closing Ceremony.

🚲 We will use the official Paris Olympics 2024 and Olympics.com websites for much of the information regarding the competing sports, event schedule, videos of previous Olympics, video highlights from this year, and venue maps.
🚲 The Penn Museum website will provide information regarding the history of the Olympics that I will use in my teacher-created presentations.
🚲 Rick Steves Paris Guide and Lonely Planet Guide to Paris will be used to source the information presented to the students through my teacher-created presentation
