In our first meeting, students will use a ruler to measure and draw an X and Y axis. We will then connect coordinates on the axis to create a drawing. To complete the drawing, students will then use color to create a gradient, or alternating pattern. This course is a combination of my Axis Drawing and Geometric drawing courses. Students will learn measurement and graphing strategies by completing a drawing. Students will be able to apply various drawing techniques, such as shading, layering, and texture.
I have been a certified, classroom teacher for over 15 years, and have taught these lessons to diverse learners from ages 10-17.
There is no required homework, but students are encouraged to complete the drawings outside of class time.
Paper or sketch book, minimum 8 1/2 x 11 inches A metric ruler Pencil Eraser Color pencils or markers A compass (traditional or safety compass that draws circles) (optional: students may use drawing pencils)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
