This class is ESL friendly. I encourage participation from each learner. There will be chances to speak and answer questions in a low-pressure environment. Learners are never required to speak if they choose to listen and observe.
SUMMER CAMP SUPPLIES: Day 1 (Tuesday): WHY DO TEETH WIGGLE? -No supplies needed Day 2 (Wednesday): CAVITY-FREE KIDS -1 cookie or cracker (Example: Oreo cookie, animal cracker, saltine cracker, Ritz, goldfish, graham cracker, or anything else you have at home.) -1 raw fruit or vegetable that your child enjoys (Example: carrot stick, celery stick, cucumber slice, bell pepper, snap peas, apple slice, grape, or anything else you have at home.) -A small mirror for your child to look at their teeth Day 3 (Thursday): BRUSHING BOOT CAMP -A toothbrush
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The benefits of fluoride toothpaste for cavity prevention will be briefly discussed. The fluoride recommendations mentioned in this class are agreed upon and supported by the American Dental Association (ADA), American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
