In this 4 week book club we will discuss Annie and Jack's wild adventures to faraway places and times and learn something about each time period that they visit.

Engaging stories help to develop language fluency and a love of reading. In this 4 week book club we will travel with Annie and Jack to a prehistoric land with dinosaurs, a medieval land with a castle, ancient Egypt and pyramids and lastly the Caribbean with pirates and hidden treasure! With each adventure we will learn information about the particular time period. Book club discussions will help increase participants' reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. Text dependent question prompts will serve as conversation and discussion starters. In our book club sessions, literacy skills, such as text-based vocabulary practice, and comprehensions questions with ongoing positive feedback will be included. Week 1 - Magic Tree House: #1 Dinosaurs Before Dark Week 2 - Magic Tree House: #2 The Knight at Dawn Week 3 - Magic Tree House: #3 Mummies in the Morning Week 4 - Magic Tree House: #4 Pirates Past Noon
Learning Goals
Book Club discussions will address several research based literacy skills such as text-based vocabulary practice, text-dependent questions and other comprehension questions.
