Summer Beginning Reader Skills
In this course, we will work on letter sounds and word families, as well, as learn sight words. We will work on fluency passages and become more confident readers. Beginning readers are encouraged to enroll!

Beginner Level
This class will teach: * Letter Sounds and Blends * Sight Words * Rhyming * Print Awareness * Listening Comprehension * Phonological Awareness In this class, students will interact with me as we practice sounds, blend sounds, and play games to create words. I will use manipulative and flash cards throughout this class.

Letters M, S, P, A

Lesson 2:
Letters N, T, B, and J
Learning new letters sounds, practice with confused letters (m and n), blending sounds with letter tiles. Play "change the word" and practice reading words. Read Aloud: Fox in Socks 30 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Letters G, D, C, and Y
Learning new letters sounds, practice with confused letters (b and d), blending sounds and letter tiles, and playing "change the word". Learning that every word has a vowel. Practice reading words. Read Aloud: The Little Red Hen 30 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Letters H, K, and R

Student should be able to recite the alphabet.
Student should be able to recognize capital and lowercase letters.
